…should you decide to accept it.
And no, we don’t have the benefit of exploding tape recorders or even fancy gadgets. This is just plain old grass roots stuff here.
As most – if not all – of you know, Miranda: A Rowan Gant Investigation is now officially available. Well, it would seem that for some reason it is not being sold by Amazon.com, other than as a Kindle version. There is a current listing for the paperback version, however it is a third party seller, not Amazon.
Now, while I am all about independent booksellers as opposed to big chains, and mega-sites like Amazon, I am also a realist. I know, as most authors do, that Amazon is a large percentage of sales for a book – especially when it is from an indie press. So, unfortunately, sometimes we must embrace the evil that is corporate America.
The only reason I am bringing this up now is the fact that one of my fans is a former Amazon customer service rep, and she contacted them about all of this. It seems she was told that, “Amazon will NOT be carrying the paperback version of Miranda.”
Granted, said fan also pointed out that this is a fairly standard “canned” response that is used by the reps at Amazon, however, to date they still do not have the book listed for sale under their banner.
So… If you are so inclined, being the Ghoul Squadders that you are, maybe you could take a moment to drop Amazon a line asking about the availability of Miranda: A Rowan Gant Investigation by M. R. Sellars. We certainly don’t want you to take them to task or anything of that sort. Simply a respectful customer inquiry.
Honestly, I can’t imagine that they wouldn’t carry the book. They have no reason not to. But, they aren’t moving very fast and a friendly nudge never hurts.
Until the next time, keep on getting your ghoul on!

Done! I hope they get flooded with emails, Murv. Can’t believe they aren’t carrying it – are they having issues with your publisher or something?
The publisher is just as confused about this as me. They’ve never had an issue, and Amazon has always obtained books from Ingram as a distribution point. Ingram has Miranda in the database and it’s available, so there’s no reason… The fan who used to work for them called a few days ago and they tried blaming the publisher for them not having the title info, which as I understand it was a complete crock. Then they said they couldn’t verify availability, which as it turns out wasn’t a total lie because it wasn’t showing up in Ingram’s system at the time. But, that changed within a few hours. Now, they gave her the line that they don’t intend to carry it. Just received an email from another Ghoul Squadder who called them directly and was told that they “don’t know why they aren’t carrying it”… It’s friggin’ Amazon. They don’t know a lot of things, but like the original post said – they’re the biggest game in town. O_o
Done! I emphasized the fact that I have been a loyal customer to Amazon for over 10 years and this was the first time I have not been able to find a title I wanted to buy. I also mentioned it must have been a grave oversight on their part and I felt confident they would remedy the situation immediately. Here’s keeping my fingers crossed!
Already got a response from Amazon with this link attached:

Looks like it’s fixed!
