About Me:
Yes. I’m a bit of an overachiever, or so I am told. I don’t set out to be, but when I become passionate about something I immerse myself in it, and before I know it I find that it has almost consumed me. Most of the time that isn’t a bad thing.
As it says above, I was born in Saint Louis, but my family was only here temporarily at the time. Something to do with my father’s work. I’ve never really been sure what that was since he refuses to talk about it. All I know for certain is that it was some sort of government job. We went home to Ireland well before my first birthday, and that is where I spent a good portion of my childhood. Throughout the years, many of my relatives emigrated to the United States, therefore we would return from time to time to visit, as well for my father’s work. We spent time in many different cities, but Saint Louis seemed to be a hub for our family. The back and forth of it all made long-term childhood friendships hard to maintain, but there were a few that I managed to keep, both here and at home.
Eventually, we emigrated as well. I was none too happy about leaving Ireland, but I had no real choice in the matter since I was only 16. However, I returned home for most of my time in college. What prompted me to return to the United States I’m not really sure, other than family, of course. But I am glad that I did. Still, I visit home whenever possible.
I have to be honest, writing this bio isn’t counted among my favorite tasks. I’m not really one for talking about myself all that much. It’s not that I’m necessarily all that quiet, it’s just that I prefer to listen rather than talk. My husband tells me I have a skewed perception of reality where that is concerned, but I think he’s wrong. As I said, sometimes I can be passionate. Besides, when it comes to activities other than talking he never complains, if you know what I mean.
But wrong or not, in my eyes Rowan Gant is still the most wonderful man in the world. He’s the very reason I am glad I decided to return to the United States, and the one person who truly makes it worthwhile for me to stay.
I’m not really sure what else to say. I started this blog on the advice of a friend. Rowan seemed to think it was a good idea too. I suppose we will see how it works out.
As a companion to my blogs I am now on Facebook:
